To lower energy costs, Guyana can increase utility-scale renewable energy capacity, adopt energy-saving measures, and switch to fuel efficient cars and freight trucks. These measures can help reduce energy costs. Currently, Guyana does not yet have a deregulated system that would allow for a vertically integrated utilities structure.
Guyana's energy policy is the main policy that governs the energy sector in Guyana. There is currently no policy that specifically safeguards the sustainable exploitation of hydrocarbons.
